Seeking a construction professional looking to build critical infrastructure for Australia




Leading from the front and creating and supporting your own high preforming team with the head of delivery across operations, as well as the critical supporting infrastructure for the construction delivery. As a leader of Construction Project Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for managing and deploying an construction project delivery capability across the organisation. This includes management of a resource pool of Project Managers and other project professionals who are deployed to undertake projects across the business Change Portfolio and also managing the relationship with third party project delivery providers to deploy their services where appropriate. Further, you will lead, developing, implement and operate the delivery frameworks and processed to ensure the successful execution of the Project Delivery objective. You will be dynamic culturally inclusive leader who is individual experienced with the wide span of construction and operations, with specific proficiency in construction project delivery and have practical knowledge in applying and tailoring industry delivery approaches (such as Design and Construct(D&C), Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) in an organisational context.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Provide the vision and leadership for a group of 20+ staff who will be responsible for the construction needs in Australia, as well as the operational support and building an inclusive and high performing culture.
  • Work Deliver the Construction project delivery capability across the organisations Change Portfolio, with demonstration of project and program management.
  • Set up and manage the industry standard operating procedures for construction and maintenance activities to plan and implement engineering operations end-to-end, providing updates and reports as necessary
  • Oversee and manage branch budget and performance targets, including the promotion of an efficient and cost-conscious culture across Project Delivery.
  • Deliver an Construction project delivery framework to assure appropriate standards, capabilities and methodologies are applied. This framework must work in tandem with the other deliver/delivery support frameworks and those that exist across the business.
  • Define and evolve a minimum performance standard for Construction Project Management and manage performance against this standard
  • Drive implementation of enterprise governance systems and policies, including safety, environmental, WHS, risk and compliance.

Skills and Experienced Required:

  • A working history in construction and a significant experience in Program and/or Project management with qualifications.
  • A senior level of relevant professional experience in construction and operational leadership managing Tier 1, 2 and 3 builders to achieve project outcomes.
  • Working history and experience delivering construction projects in a leadership position
  • Demonstrable record of successfully delivering short and long-term monitoring of construction performance, tracking of metrics, and of driving performance improvements to manage an efficient projects and maintenance works.
  • A demonstrated record of successful leadership and management of teams, promoting diversity and developing an inclusive, high-performing culture. Experience of all aspects of people management including recruitment, capability development and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and confidently at all levels, presenting complex construction issues and concepts in a style appropriate to the audience, and the ability to represent the organisation externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive, deliver and sustain large-scale transformation to achieve objectives in a complex environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence, build trust, shape conversations, and change behaviours through effective relationship
