Mott MacDonald is looking for a Planning Engineer to support accurate programme forecasting for a Portfolio of Projects for a major UK Government Framework.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
Supporting the team to maintain accurate forecasts of project key milestones across the life of the programme.
Help align long term programme forecasting with capital spending models.
Provide monthly forecasting reports on project status and forecast key milestone dates.
Monitor delivery against forecasts and report on reasons for variance.
Support with remote meetings with delivery partners to interrogate forecasts and make adjustments as required.
Help develop and maintain benchmark data to enable accurate forecasts across the programme.

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with certification in planning and scheduling of projects and in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management /P6 and Primavera Contract Management/Expedition) and cost engineering
Prior experience in a similar role with an engineering consultancy or project management consultancy
Extensive knowledge and experience in project planning, budgeting, cost phasing and control from the project initiation to close out phases, utilizing computer-based systems (e.g. Primavera Project Management ‘P6’)
Previous experience in reviewing and updating baselines, project schedules and cost using planning software and programmes
Be able to track, correspondences, drawings, submittals, daily reports, transmittals, Minutes of Meetings, BOQs, requests for inspection, requests for clarification, change orders and invoice, and payment requisitions
Demonstrable experience in developing project wide work breakdown structures (WBS)
Reviewing contractor’s work program submissions including all narratives and relevant information, and provides breakdown and findings
Verifying actual progress and comparing actual performances to original plans;
Monitoring, adjusting and updating the cost plan and cash flows accordingly and the consolidating these results in monthly reports
