Security Officer - New York, NY
Immediate opportunity available for on-site, high end security officer to join luxury real estate Company.
Job Summary:
- Man a post, process visitors and employees without building access cards
- Observe and report suspicious activities and persons
- Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports
- Enforce rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance
- May be asked to work some tours on weekends
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide an exceptional degree of service to maintain an environment of luxury
- Greet and direct all residents and guests in a courteous manner
- Screen visitors and accept deliveries/packages
- Maintain log books for visitors
- Provide courteous service such as opening doors
- Ensure the safety and security of property, tenants, personnel and guests
- Acknowledge and greet customers and guests in a friendly and courteous manner
- Be alert at all times to any unusual, suspicious activities or incidents that may occur
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude and disposition at all times
- Walk building, grounds to ensure security
- Perform all other work related duties as assigned by the security supervisor and related management
- Handling tenant and visitor questions and/or any emergency situations that may arise
- Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required
- Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
Job Requirements:
- Must have a valid NYS Security Guard License
- FDNY Certificate of Fitness F-53 (One-way Voice announcement Personnel) or willing to obtain such license or FDNY Certificate of Fitness F-89 (Fire and Life safety director)
- Minimum 3 years security experience required; luxury residential building preferred
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Positive and attentive demeanor with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Punctual, reliable and consistent team player
- Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations
- Fluent in English (fluency in other languages in addition to English is a plus)
- Ability to respond to emergency or critical incidents and notify proper authorities as required
- Ability to pick up and carry a 20-pound box at waist level
- Willing to accept shift work, weekends, holidays and overtime if needed
- Basic computer skills
