Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced supply chain candidate who will join our warehouse systems and support team. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and seamless operation of the bio-pharma company's supply chain by owning and managing the inbound schedule, maintaining communication with external warehouses, overseeing inventory, and providing backup support to the warehouse team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound Schedule Ownership:
Develop and maintain the inbound schedule, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of materials and products from suppliers. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align the schedule with production and demand forecasts. Monitor and adjust the schedule as needed to accommodate changes in production priorities or supplier constraints.
External Warehouse Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact with external warehouses, fostering strong communication and collaboration. Coordinate daily communications with the external warehouse regarding inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and timely movement of goods. Address any issues or discrepancies related to shipments and inventory with the external warehouse.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels at the external warehouse and collaborate with the inventory control team to ensure accuracy and alignment with GMP company standards. Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize excess stock, and reduce the risk of stockouts.
Backup Support:
Provide backup coverage to other warehouse support team members to ensure uninterrupted operations during peak times, absences, or unforeseen events. Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth handoffs and transitions of responsibilities.
Master Data Maintenance:
Maintain and manage accurate master data related to inventory, shipments, and warehouse processes. Regularly update and validate data in the warehouse management system to ensure data integrity.
Problem Solving and Deviation Management:
Serve as a lead for warehouse-related problem-solving initiatives, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Own the management of minor deviations within the warehouse operations, documenting and addressing deviations in accordance with company procedures.
Additional Warehouse Support Activities:
Continuously identify opportunities to enhance warehouse operations and support overall supply chain efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, automation, and best practices.
Systems:
SAP, Rapid Response (Planning System), CDOCS, QMTS (Quality Trackwise System)
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or related field.
3 years of experience in warehouse management, supply chain, or related roles within the bio-pharma or pharmaceutical industry.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes.
Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software tools.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to lead and drive solutions in a cross-functional environment.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance within the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
