Authority & Licensing Officer [Malaysia]


 

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, business objectives, commitments and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with various contractors and vendors including internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the Local Authorities requirement on fit-out plan and design matters for any new / renovation project.
  • Coordinate with current or new Architect on site fit-out works for Building Plan (BP) submission to Local Authorities.
  • Manage site fit-out works (or reinstatement works) to ensure it is in accordance with project timeline, budget and approved drawings including regular site inspections.
  • Handle utility meter installation and termination with relevant utility provider to ensure proper functionality i.e. Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), State Water Meter Provider (Air Selangor, Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan, Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang and etc).
  • Manage the application of Business License for new cafes and other permits which is required to be applied to the Local Authority before store opening.
  • Propose to the superior or Management on any changes made by the local authority with regards to licensing and permits.
  • Escalate proposed changes to cost or timescale beyond contractual levels and check for possible effects on the Business Cases.
  • Prepare monthly project reports to ensure risks and issues are being tracked and mitigated/resolved and financial tracking on expenditure levels.
  • Coordinate monthly project and post project review meetings to ensure benefits are realized with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise between internal and external stakeholders.
  • To undertake any works related to projects assigned as and when required by superior or Project Leaders from time to time.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Candidate with at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction/Development or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of working experience in project management field.
  • Experience in dealing with Local Authorities i.e. City Councils, TNB, SYABAS etc. will be an added advantage.
  • Well-versed in project arbitrage cycle.

Skills:

  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and ability to interact effectively with people at different levels.
  • PC literate with knowledge in Microsoft Office Appliances.
  • Willing to travel regularly across project sites.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive and ability to work with minimum supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: RM2,500.00 - RM3,800.00 per month
