Physical Requirements
Physical demands greater than moderate may require knowledge of use of appropriate equipment and operation of various machines. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians. Requires close mental, visual, and auditory attention in all phases of activities. Frequent bending, lifting, and pulling require use of proper body mechanics at all times. Must be able to wear mask, goggles, and gown.
Demonstrate ability to establish priorities, work under pressure deadlines, and deal with multiple assignments. Stress levels are high due to frequently dealing with physicians, anesthesia, other health care providers, patients and families.
Must be able to move equipment and instrument trays. Transports and positions patients.
In clinical duties will be exposed to communicable disease, blood, body fluids, hazardous chemicals, and sharp instruments. Exposure to injury from patients or equipment. Realizing there are unavoidable environmental hazards, the employee must assume responsibility for knowledge of protocols and policies relevant to these hazards. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood, and body fluids, hazardous chemicals. Utilized appropriate protective attire that will be provided in each area. Exposure to surgical and anesthesia stress.
