Within this context, you will be working for the laboratory Long Product Research Centre located in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg) which main research areas are : help plants to improve their key technical parameters and to meet customer requirements at the lowest possible cost, support industrialisation of new products (process) ; create competitive differentiation through enhanced or unique functionality, superior quality of our products, while ensuring their manufacturability and delivery to our customers at the lowest possible cost (products), help our customers to make the best possible use of our advanced product range, showcase practical examples of the most advanced products and present a complete solution to the market with higher added value (applications and steel solutions).
The main missions of the laboratory are : contribute to a low cost and sustainable production of structural long products, help to develop the steel market in construction (fire engineering, earthquake resistance, corrosion protection…), implement the developments with the internal clients in the plants or markets, internal and external benchmarking is an important related mission.
Your role
We are looking for a Vision Systems Engineer to join our R&D team in Esch-Sur-Alzette (Luxembourg). You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing computer vision to improve quality assurance for strategic customer.
You will work with a team of engineers, researchers and process and quality engineers to analyse requirements, design and test vision algorithms, and integrate them into industrial software and hardware solutions.
Your expertise in computer vision, image processing, machine and deep learning to help the team to deliver R&D solutions.
You will participate in the transformation 4.0 of our industry and contributes to ArcelorMittal’s ambitions in technological innovation, high-level quality industrial solutions to support sustainability, net-zero by 2050, ecological challenges goals, and future growth.
Your profile
- You hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field or an equivalent practical experience.
- First experience in computer vision, image processing and deep learning would be a plus.
- You have advanced level in English and in French.
- You have strong programming skills in Python, C++.
- You demonstrate project management skills.
- You have strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
- You master deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and Keras.
- You have a first experience with computer vision librairies such as OpenCV, Halcon, MIL, PCL.
- You are able to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary environment.
